Can*Con’s come and gone, and I had a fantastic time! I met some fantastic people – writers and readers alike – and I’m already thinking about next year, getting all excited to go back!
I’ve missed conventions. There’s an energy at a con that can’t be matched anywhere else. They all have their ups and downs, but they really do give you a unique, inexplicable vibe I can’t compare to any other kind of event.
Now it’s back to regular life, though. Midterms, essays, chores. I’ve had a few bad pain days and grappled with disability issues. I’m typing while my TENs unit attempts to shock my shoulder into shape, in fact. I don’t regret committing to such a busy weekend (or spending time on the dance floor) but wow do I wish my body didn’t pay for it in such a major way.
I’ve got too much to do to start on a new project. And yet…
I don’t know, I feel weird when I’m not writing/working on a story. Maybe I’ll let myself poke around some short story concepts if I can’t commit the time to a novel. The problem is, the only ideas I have are for longer-form fiction.
I’ll have to spend some time ruminating! Which means getting assignments out of the way first.
And on that note, time to get back to reading my Politics textbook.
