The Glad Day market came and went, and I’m thrilled to report I sold 40% of my book stock – especially amazing given that I’d set my expectations at selling two or three copies! I hope that everyone who came had a great time, and that you enjoy your new reads!
Now that we’re in December, I’m into the final exam period of my first university semester. I did okay on my first one – not great, but well enough that I’m not too down about it lowering my grade average a bit. I’ve got two more to study for, a short story on the go, and more books than I know what to do with.
Wait, that’s not necessarily true… I do know what to do with them. I’m going to read them. The ‘when’ is just in question.
Anyway, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m going into this winter a bit more hopeful than I have been in previous years. Maybe it’s just because this year feels the most proactive? Maybe it’s because there’s a thin, but decent, layer of snow on the ground, whereas last year I think that wasn’t a lasting snow until after Christmas.
I want to believe this feeling’s backed by something. Feelings rarely are, but I think we could all use a win before the year’s out. Times have been dark… Economically, politically. There’s so much going on and powerful people are spreading so much pain. We deserve to have our hopes pay off.
So, what are you wishing for this holiday season?
