My Cup of Tea; March 18 2026

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit down with me with a cup of tea, have a chat? This Saturday, an episode of Drinking With Authors comes out featuring yours truly! We chat about some great topics, such as AI, the homelessness crisis in Toronto, and the second tongue I had removed when I was a kid. Not in that order.

Things are looking up for me both from a schooling and a writing career perspective! I’ve met with my professor and figured out a plan of action for my final exam, and I got word from my publisher (Renaissance Press) that I sold over 100 books in 2025! Considering ‘The Other Face of Sympathy’ came out in late 2025, too, that’s incredible to me!

I’ve also applied to be a vendor at a market or two, but I won’t have word back on that until April, so keep your fingers crossed that I get in.

I had a bit of money from my income tax return this month, and after paying bills, I decided to funnel that money back into marketing investments. New business cards – I ran out of the last ones – and a table runner with my logo, my QR code, and my name. Even if I don’t get into the market I applied to, these are things I’ll be using further down the road regardless.

Just those things cost a ton, though. I’m fortunate that I’m in a position where I could spend that money – how self-publishing authors manage it is amazing. You don’t just need the funds up-front; you’ve got to know what’s worth investing in.

Last bit of news is, at some point in the near future, I’m going to endeavour to get my newsletter up and running! I plan on sending out one chapter of my now-unavailable books per month once I’ve nailed down how I want to distribute. If you’re interested, you can sign up for my newsletter on my home page!
